For tyre dealers

Tyre shop safety software for tyre dealers

A tyre shop has its own risks: a truck tyre in the cage, wheel nuts done up to the right torque, and a used tyre pile that can grow faster than the collections. WorkshopSafe keeps the checks and the records for all of it.

What the tyre dealer starter list sets up

Tick Tyre dealer when you start and WorkshopSafe loads its starter list: each piece of equipment with its checks, how often, and who does them. Along with the hoist, compressor and jacks, it adds:

  • Tyre changer: a daily pre-start look-over, and a yearly service.
  • Wheel balancer: a weekly calibration check, and a yearly service.
  • Tyre inflation cage: a monthly check.
  • Impact wrenches and torque wrench: a monthly check, and a yearly torque wrench calibration.
  • Tyre inflator and gauges: an accuracy check every three months.
  • Truck tyre manipulator: a monthly check.
  • New tyre racks: a weekly check of the racks and stacks.
  • Used tyre cage: a weekly storage check, and a monthly collection.

With the hoist, compressor and jacks, the list holds 11 pieces of equipment and 17 checks, on top of the emergency equipment every site gets. The cage and manipulator checks note the truck and split-rim tyre training they need. Change any of it to suit your shop.

Each tyre changer, balancer and cage gets its own QR label. Whoever is on the floor scans it, enters their PIN and ticks the check; a failed check can carry a photo. Used tyre collections are recorded with the collector, so each one is on file.

Settings, Starter checklist, in the live demo: tick Tyre dealer and load it. Each card counts what it adds to that site’s register, so a site that already has some of the equipment sees fewer.

Who asks for what: WorkSafe, EPA and NMI

WorkSafe

The readiness list adds training for everyone who inflates truck or split-rim tyres, a safe work procedure for inflating tyres in the cage, and risk assessments for the plant. Storing used tyres so they cannot catch fire is marked for both WorkSafe and the EPA.

EPA

The used tyre lines follow EPA Victoria’s waste tyre pages: keeping used tyres under 5 m³ or holding an A09b registration, and recording every load in EPA Waste Tracker. Other states have their own rules, so check yours.

NMI

Not part of the tyre dealer list. The tyre inflator and gauges are checked for accuracy as good practice.

Each line is ranked by what a gap could lead to. WorkshopSafe keeps the records; it does not replace advice from a qualified safety professional.
